Statements by Islamic State militants claimed the group was behind the downing of Egyptian passenger plane from French capital Paris that was bound for Egypt’s Cairo.

The jihadist group claimed a bomb inside plane caused the explosion that crashed the plane. It was believed all those on board might have died.

French authorities said earlier the plane crashed in southern Mediterranean and later remnants were found near Greek island.
